We do this for the benefit of our members, organisations and society. It’s something we take very seriously.
We are the only professional body dedicated exclusively to promoting the vital work of internal audit professionals in the UK and Ireland.
We are the only internal audit organisation in the world with a Royal Charter and therefore the authority to award chartered status.

Chartered IIA is recognised by the market as the first port of call for the provision of relevant knowledge and resources required by members to succeed in their careers as internal auditors.
Chartered IIA is resourced to create, curate and deliver knowledge content and learning resources which are relevant, accessible, timely, insightful and practical either on its own or in collaboration with strategic partners as appropriate.
Advocacy
The Chartered IIA advocates that: -

All public interest entities be required to have internal audit as an integral part of their Governance structure.

All enterprises with an internal audit function operating in a regulated environment be required to comply with Global Internal Audit Standards and related Codes of Practice.
The Chartered IIA has strategic plans to raise the profile of the profession amongst c-suite, audit committees, regulators, policy makers and the general public and work with these stakeholders to gain a seat at their tables.

The Chartered IIA is a sustainable organisation that has the financial, technological and human resources to meet the needs of our members. We have work space where our key stakeholders can come and that inspires the staff team.
